Office space provider Bruntwood has delivered a solid financial performance against the tough economic climate, its latest figures have shown.

Measuring the company's progress in the financial year ending September 2011, Bruntwood's pre-tax profit was up by 1 per cent to £11.2m, while its fixed assets had improved by 2 per cent to reach £966m. The company's net worth also increased, by 2.5 per cent to £318m.

Chris Oglesby, Bruntwood’s Chief Executive, said: "The economic climate continues to be tough and we have had to work hard, as a team, to deliver these results. We are continuing to focus on our customers in the current marketplace to ensure they have the services, flexibility and competitively priced accommodation that they need."

The commercial space specialist can cater for a variety of different types of business, with services ranging from virtual office space and meeting room hire for companies who operate elsewhere, to long-term commercial space leasing and shops to let.

Businesses which have recently launched or companies with flexible office space needs are often keen to consider serviced offices, due to their flexible nature. Serviced offices allow organisations to rent space for short periods with the ability to grow their business for the long-term, even from as short as one month, which they can extend if needed. In uncertain financial conditions, this is extremely useful.

Bruntwood's selection of buildings in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham also feature training rooms and function rooms, among other options. The company owns a total of 101 buildings across the North and the Midlands.

Chris Oglesby added: "Through the recent economic turbulence, our main focus has been on driving value in our existing portfolio. Looking forward we are keen to grow in the science and technology sector in Manchester as well as to continue to develop our business in Leeds, Birmingham and Liverpool."
