New e-estate agency launches to help frustrated home movers

www.itsahome.co.uk, a new estate agency designed to help Scottish home movers overcome the difficulties of today’s flagging property market, is being launched today (Wednesday, 8 February 2012) by two Perthshire entrepreneurs.

It’s Scotland’s first bespoke agency to be set up in a bid to boost property sales and is being pioneered by professional marketers Damian Houston and Steve Brown, who pledge to waive commission on their first 25 sales while they build brand awareness.

Although based online, www.itsahome.co.uk will provide a full agency service, whose ethos is to combine excellent customer relations with tangible solutions for both buyers and sellers, while educating them on the dos and don’ts of today’s property market.

Unlimited by geographical reach, its remit will span residential property across Fife, Dundee, Perthshire and Kinross.

Co-founder Damian, a former financial services marketing manager, who’s originally from Auchtermuchty, explained: “During our market research, we discovered that many homeowners thought agents had initially overvalued their properties to get the business then felt pressurised into reducing the price without being offered an alternative solution to achieving a sale.

“Our interviewees also told us that, in the current financial climate, many of them either can’t afford or aren’t prepared to take such a hit on their purse strings.

“But we believe there is another way and pledge to tailor our services to help both buyers and sellers in these times of austerity until the market is buoyant again.

“Although it’s been reported that Perthshire’s housing market ended 2011 on a high, we think home-sellers need to be realistic about what they can achieve.

“Steve, who hails from Perth and has countless years of sales and customer service experience under his belt, added: “We’re up against plenty of competition from the high street agencies but, because most of our business is conducted online, or within our clients’ own homes, our overheads are minimal, which means we can be more cost effective.

“Being independent, we can also be more reactive to the needs of our clients and can adapt easily to the economic climate. We believe we can do more and are delighted to be able to offer our first 25 clients zero per cent commission.”
