Bruntwood, the family-owned office letting company, has joined forces with the University of Manchester in a multimillion pound property project for Manchester Business School. The strategically important Oxford Road Corridor will be the site of an executive education centre, conference venue and four star hotel created in a £60 million development.

The project will be split into several phases, with work scheduled to start next year. With large companies such as Tesco, BAE and BT using the increasingly popular Manchester Business School leadership and management programmes, its growing student population will really benefit from the cutting-edge facilities.

A flagship investment in Manchester

Professor Michael Luger, Dean of Manchester Business School commented: "We are delighted to be working with Bruntwood on what will be a flagship investment for the city of Manchester. As we move towards our goal of becoming a truly world-class business school, the hotel and conference centre will provide an excellent base from which to explore Manchester and it will play a key role in attracting inward development to the city."

This project will see Bruntwood investing in education for the first time, as the company is more used to renovating and developing top quality retail and office space. A new conference centre and four star hotel will be built in the first phase of the development. The Executive Education offering and the University's MBA programme will, in the second and third phases of the project, be given new bases for teaching and administration. A resources and learning hub will be the last phase.

Manchester conference venues and meeting rooms

In fact, Bruntwood already provides conference facilities in Manchester. Several large meeting rooms are available to rent, with refreshments and AV equipment that means they're an ideal choice for a conference venue.

Bruntwood's director of special projects Colin Sinclair explained: "Bruntwood is thrilled to have been chosen to redevelop Manchester Business School and is looking forward to working with the University of Manchester and Manchester Business School to deliver a world class facility at the very heart of Manchester's education quarter".
