Declutter your life right now!
21st of October, 2010

It is National Declutter week next week - the perfect excuse to free up some space in your life.
What is National Declutter Week, you ask? It is a week, which this year runs from Saturday 23rd October to Sunday 31st October when the entire nation can get rid of its clutter! This give you two weekends and most likely, a half-term, when you and your family can rid your house of all that clutter you have been collecting for years.
Get the kids involved by getting them to sort out old or unused toys, clothes that no longer fit and all those broken bits and pieces that seem to occupy toy boxes.
You too, can declutter your clothes by popping those that do not fit or those you have not worn for years into a charity bag. Swap over your seasonal clothes and store those which are not going to be used for a couple of months.
Once you get going, it will be difficult to stop! Kitchen and bathroom cupboards are a must, as are garages and outside sheds. Do you really need five empty paint cans?!
Once sorted, you can recycle stuff, pop it on Ebay or give it to your local charity, or if you really do have items you want to keep, but need the space, pop it into your local self storage company.
Self storage is perfect for items you are not using on a day to day basis, such as seasonal sports equipment, seasonal clothing or that piece of inherited furniture that you really do want to hang on to. Self storage is also great for storing those Christmas presents that you have been hiding all year!
