The French kickboxing sport of Boxe-Francaise Savate will be taught at one of London's trendiest health clubs from June 2011.

Savate is an elegant French boxing art in which the feet and hands are used in accurate, effective strikes. Developed in the 1830s, Savate combined English pugilism and French street kicking techniques to create the first modern kickboxing. Savate is now a fascinating and elegant modern ring combat sport with practitioners all over the world.

James Southwood is London's premier Savate instructor. British Champion many times over, a World and European medal winner with 12 years experience in the sport, James offers personal Savate and fight fitness coaching.

James' students can expect to learn sharp boxing skills, effective and elegant kicking techniques and be toned and honed with fight conditioning fitness drills. James is a British Team coach and qualified referee.

James is offering classes and coaching in Savate from 1st June 2011 at The Bankside Health Club, London SE1 – offering some of London's finest gym facilities near London's southbank.
