Will Kerching's Rainbow Riches Leprechaun go down in history with these famous mascots?

The Kerching Casino blog this week looks at the world of mascots - those often-cheeky characters who brighten up products and brands the world over. Even Kerching has jumped on the bandwagon with the memorable Rainbow Riches slots game mascot.

Mario

The moustachioed Nintendo mascot actually came to be after games designer Shigeru Miyamoto failed to secure the rights to use the Popeye characters. He created Jumpman, who starred in the retro Donkey Kong game, but it was with the release of Mario Bros that the little plumber got his name.

Michelin Man

Also known as Bibendum, this character made his debut at the 1894 Lyon Exhibition in France. This means the Michelin Man is one of the world's oldest mascots. Rubber was once made differently and looked lighter in colour, which explains why the Michelin Man appears to be made from white tyres.

Ronald McDonald

A citizen of McDonaldland, Ronald McDonald first graced McDonald's adverts in 1963. Between 1959 and 1962, popular TV character Bozo the Clown was used in the adverts, so the character was intended as a replacement. Comics, a TV show and even a video game have now featured the famous Ronald.

Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse is arguably the most well-known mascot on this list. His first appearance on the silver screen was as star of the Steamboat Willie cartoon, released in 1928. His look has only been slightly altered since this debut, and Mickey is now seen as the king of the Disney universe.

Rainbow Riches Leprechaun

The Rainbow Riches Leprechaun has featured in numerous Rainbow Riches online slots games over the years. The little scamp has even found his way onto Twitter (@RainbowRiches), where you can catch up with all his adventures!
