Aderma® will help to reduce pressure ulcers in 2011

2010 has been a monumental year for FPD Medical and Aderma® with many highlights throughout. Even though, as a nation, we are facing financial difficulties due to the Economy, Aderma® has proven victorious cementing it as a much needed, valuable brand within all healthcare settings.

Throughout 2010 FPD Medical have worked closely alongside Healthcare Professionals, signifying their belief in the brand and helping in the growth and development of Aderma®. Subsequently this has seen an expansion in the Aderma® product portfolio with the introduction of the large Aderma® heel; due to be released in the first quarter of 2011. Also the introduction of the educational literature has been a resounding success with thanks to those who helped in the editing, which will unquestionably continue in 2011.

FPD Medical have also seen success at all attended exhibitions in 2010, in particular Wounds UK, Wounds Expo and the Prove It conference. CEO Dr Craig Barson States
“The interest and feedback for Aderma® at this year’s exhibitions has been phenomenal. The focus of the 2009 exhibitions was on introducing people to Aderma® and we expected this to continue into 2010. It did, however we were overwhelmed by the amount of people who had heard of Aderma® and used it with great success.”

In August, FPD Medical were shortlisted for the 2010 Nursing Times Product Award with the entire Aderma® range. On November 3rd they were pronounced platinum winners for the Wound Care & Pressure Ulcer Prevention category, spearheading 7 other competitors including medical heavyweights Smith & Nephew and 3M, Judges comments included:-
“It is repackaged, repurposed and simple and easy to use.”, “It will make a massive difference to patients’ lives,”
“Brilliant,” and “It is focused on the solution, and that is why it is my number one in this category.”
October 2010 saw Aderma® tackle the World Wide Web in order to partly fulfil one of the brand’s objectives of increasing Aderma®’s brand awareness. To date Aderma® has been added to the world’s largest social networking site, known as Facebook, the Aderma® resource centre has undergone maintenance, regular press releases are being issued and FPD Medical have also incorporated Direct Mailing into their communication strategies. All online efforts have been well received and will continue to be developed and executed during 2011 and further years to come with innovative ideas already in the pipeline.

Furthermore FPD Medical’s 2010 success can be defined in figures, with the financial year starting 03/2010 Aderma® sales are already 40% up on last year. There has also been an increase in the number of training sessions since last year, and in the past 3 months Aderma® has acquired 78 new customers. To conclude, 2011 is set to be a busy year for FPD Medical and Aderma®, with 14 live evaluations currently underway, the submission of the Drug Tariff application and continuous development and innovation across all areas of the business.
